Company Story
Helping Families & Businesses Ship with Confidence
The Diaspora Shipping Pioneers
We didn’t just join the diaspora shipping world — we helped create it.
Long before shipping barrels became an industry, we were doing it to help our neighbours. From the early days of Windrush to today’s returnees and global relocations, we’ve been quietly moving lives across oceans for over 60 years.
That’s why three generations trust us with their most important journeys — from the UK to the Caribbean, Americas, Africa, Asia, Australia and everywhere families have made their home.
Our Story Begins in 1960
Stephen Oldershaw and his brother Philip started with a simple mission: help people move their lives with care and respect. Working from a converted Sunday school room in Derbyshire, it wasn’t glamorous — but it was grounded in genuine service.
As Caribbean families settled across the UK, a new need emerged: a reliable way to send essentials home. We answered that call, one barrel at a time. Soon we were shipping everything from care packages to complete household moves.
From neighbours helping neighbours to the shipping company families trust worldwide.
Still Family. Still Focused on You.
Today, Transpakship is proudly run by the second generation. Liz Oldershaw leads our team with the same personal approach that’s sustained us for six decades: honest advice, clear communication, and real people helping real people.
Our modern headquarters near Junction 28 of the M1 features a purpose-built warehouse and freight hub. But we’re not a faceless logistics company. We’ll answer your call, remember your story, and guide you through every step.
You’ll always get straight talk, practical support, and service that puts you first.
With Transpakship, you’ll get honest advice, practical support, and a service that puts you first — every time.
