Since the early days of cardboard boxes tied with string.
Since before WhatsApp.
Since before online tracking.
Back when a barrel had to be rolled down the street and hoped for the best.
And across six decades of working with families from the Caribbean, West Africa, and beyond — we’ve learned a few things.
1. The Best Customers Ask Questions
The ones who call to check.
The ones who want to understand.
They care — and they want to get it right.
So we never mind the questions.
We encourage them.
2. Every Shipment Is Personal
It might be a used wheelchair.
It might be tins and noodles.
It might be a suitcase full of clothes for a cousin you haven’t seen in years.
To us, it’s never “just another job.”
We don’t always know the full story — but we treat it like we do.
3. The Hardest Part Is Often Trust
Most people aren’t worried about the cost.
They’re worried about what could go wrong.
Will it arrive on time?
Will it be looked after?
Will someone be there if I have a question?
That’s why trust is everything.
We work hard to earn it — and harder to keep it.
4. Technology Changes. People Don’t.
We’ve moved from clipboards to customs platforms.
From handwritten dockets to barcode scans.
From paper labels to email receipts.
But people still want the same things they did in the 1960s:
- Honesty
- Clarity
- A fair deal
- Someone they can call
So that’s what we’ll keep offering.
