Coronavirus Update 23/12/2021

Service Update

In an attempt to curb the rapid transmission of the COVID-19 virus, and its most recent variant, the UK government constantly reviews the way we interact with one another and will impose restrictions whenever necessary.

Although Public Health England (PHE) have advised that people collecting and sending parcels are at no additional risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus, Transpakship will maintain our strengthened Health and Safety procedures in order to retain customer confidence and maintain the well-being of everyone involved.

Changes to our goods collections procedure

In order to protect both our people and customers, as much as possible, during collection Transpakship has ceased to capture our customers’ signatures on hand-held electronic devices or on paper

Our collection team now makes telephone contact with our customers’ shortly before arriving and collection your goods from outside their address. If, for any reason, customers need an alternate form of collection (due to for example: mobility or security issues) our driver will follow the exact procedure agreed at the time of booking.

International services update

Due to the evolving exceptional circumstances across the globe, we are closely monitoring the situation at an individual country level. Because of this, we are also suspending delivery date guarantees as unforeseen delays may occur due to changes in legislation outside our jurisdiction or control.

If you intend to travel overseas you can find up-to-date information about current UK procedures and restrictions as well vital guidance on your chosen destination. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-abroad-from-england-during-coronavirus-covid-19

ARRANGING A SHIPMENT:

Public Health England (PHE) has advised that people receiving parcels are not at risk of contracting the coronavirus. From experience with other coronaviruses, it is widely accepted that these types of viruses do not survive for long on non-metallic surfaces, such packages and plastic barrels. This complements the highly publicised guidance from PHE for people to wash their hands more often the usual in soap and hot water.

To protect themselves and our customers, we have trained our team to takes extra, pre-cautionary measures when bringing any item into our warehouse. As such, we are recommending that goods are brought to one of Transpakships secure depots. All our operatives will be wearing disposable gloves and we ask on the arranged drop-off date that any item be left outside the home to ensure that the government’s advised 2-metre distance rule is observed. Any documentation to be signed will be posted through your letter box, signed and left outside for collection when complete.

Again, in-line with government guidelines, we advise you to thoroughly wash your hands after your drop-off is complete. Your items will be under 24-security surveillance and shipped in line with your booking arrangement. You will be contacted immediately should your collection or delivery schedule be altered in any way.

CUSTOMER DROP-OFFS

Your goods can be taken to either our Northern UK or London depots each of which provide 24 hour security. Special shipping rates can be provided to customers who bring their cargo to us.

Both depots are observing the 2-metre distancing rules and are now open between 9:00am and 3:00pm daily. Customers must call us to make an arrangement to visit. Weekends by special appointment only.

We ask that all drivers report to the Customer Liaison on entry to the sites. Where possible drivers should stay in their vehicles while a member of the Transpakship team unload their goods.

CUSTOMERS WITH GOODS ALREADY IN TRANSIT:

The transhipment of cargo is extremely important to all Caribbean ports and we thank all the personnel in each port authority who are working hard to implement safety measures whilst keeping their ports open for business.

As such customers may experience an understandable delay when their goods reach their final destination due the restriction of crowds accessing any port at one time.

If you have named yourself as the receiver of your goods, but are now unable to fly to your chosen destination because of flight cancellations, please contact Transpakship to find an alternate solution.

FINAL WORD

We would like to thank all our clients and partners for their support and business. Transpakship is here for you throughout this crisis and we will continue to look after you and your good when it ends.

If you have any questions or need advice please feel to call us.

With warm wishes from all at:
